PICPA chessfest unfolds this pm

CEBU, Philippines - The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA)-Cebu Chapter Chess Team Tournament unwraps at 1 pm today at the Deep Blue Chess Club in SM City-Cebu.

The event, which was originally scheduled last November 8-9 but was postponed  due to super typhoon Yolanda that battered the province, offers a total of P30,000 in cash prize to the winners.

The champion will receive P12,000, while the second and third placers will pocket P8,000 and P6,000, respectively. The fourth will take home P4,000.

Each team shall be composed of one CPA and one Class A player.

The tournament format will depend on the number of participants.

Registration fee is pegged at P2,000.
