Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - This Sunday's 7th Pink October Run organized by the Philippine College of Surgeons (PCS) and the Philippine Society of General Surgeons (PSGS)-Cebu Chapter will not just be for breast cancer awareness, but also a chance for the Cebuanos to help the victims of the powerful earthquake that hit Bohol three days ago.

Joel Baring of  the Sports and Fitness Enthusiasts (SAFE), who heads the technical committee of the event, said that lead organizer Dr. Peter Mancao disclosed that a donation booth will be set up at the venue. Donations will be either be in cash or in kind.

So far, close to a thousand runners have already registered for the charity race that will take place at the Terraces grounds of Ayala Center.

Entry fee is pegged at P300 for all the three distances - the 3K, 6K and 12K - inclusive of a singlet, race bib and post-race refreshments.

Since singlets are limited, other interested individuals can still join in the fund-raising event on a lesser entry fee.

The organizers, on the other hand,  are reminding the participants to bring their own hydration kits as the Pink October Run is a “cup-less” run in an effort to avoid littering as well make it an environment-friendly race. (FREEMAN)
