Stream, Aegis clobber foes in CSCC E-League

CEBU, Philippines - Defending champion Stream Ingenyouity and the Aegis Vipers dumped their respective rivals to stay on top of the heap in the Northern Conference with identical 9-1 win-loss records in the 9th CSCC E-League for Basketball last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Sylvester Millevo carded in 18 points, five rebounds and two steals as Stream banked on a sizzling offensive in the middle quarters to bomb out the ePerformax Reds, 73-59, while Aegis showed great team effort in its 106-42 massacre of the listless Executive Boutique Lycans.

Joselito Aranda finished with 14 points, seven rebounds and two steals and John Arriesgado added 11 points, five rebounds, three assists and as many steals for Stream, which suddenly waxed hot after a 20-all deadlock at the end of the first period.

After closing the first half with a 42-34 lead, Stream further ripped the game part using a 21-7 blitz in the third for an imposing 63-41 bulge heading into the final 10-minute mark of the contest.

Angelo Lucero contributed 10 points, three rebounds and two assists for Stream, which dealt ePerformax its fourth loss in nine starts. John Alexon Loon was the lone bright spot for ePerformax with 18 points, four steals, three assists and two rebounds.

In the other game, Aegis spared no mercy against the hapless Executive Boutique, which it mauled at will quarter after quarter enroute to a 64-point blowout.

Four Aegis players cashed in double figures, but all of its wards contributed on both ends of the court. Kevin Clark Navaja netted 19 points, three rebounds and the same number of assists, while Ryan Veloso and Vincent Armamento nailed a dozen markers each.

Gestoni Santos fired 21 points on top of seven rebounds, four assists and three steals, but his all-around show again went for naught as Executive Boutique stayed winless after nine games.
