USC five host UC in CESAFI tonight

GGM - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors will host the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters tonight, hoping for an important win that will determine their seeding going into the quarterfinal round of the 13th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) men's basketball tournament that shifts action to the USC-Main gym.

Earlier this afternoon, the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars, who are in a better position of making it to the top four, go up against the listless University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Panthers.

It will also be an exciting high school game today between the USJ-R Baby Jaguars and the skidding UC Junior Webmasters, even as the USC Baby Warriors are expected to take an easy victory against the winless Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) Greywolves in the opener of a heavy quadruple-header.

The Warriors and the Jaguars are currently tied at 2-2 win-loss cards and if they emerge victorious today, they are going to dispute the solo third place next week.

Meanwhile, the University of Visayas (UV) Green Lancers finished their elimination round assignment with an 82-68 victory over the CIT-U Wildcats last Thursday night.

The scores

UV (82) -  Akomo 14, Nzesseu 13, Perolino 12, Escocio 10, Cabañero 10, Villamor 9, Arong 6, Abad 2, Octobre 2, Santillan 2, Marquez 2

CIT-U (68) - Taboada 25, Dela Cerna 23, Menguito 11, Patiño 4, Graf 3, Batiquin 2  (FREEMAN)
