Ground and Pound Championship VII Noblefranca vows swift KO win

CEBU, Philippines - Cebu’s kickboxing pride Renante ‘Limbas’ Noblefranca has vowed a swift and brutal knockout victory as he will defend his Yaw-Yan Fighting Challenge (YFC) champion title for the second time against Marjun ‘Muma Warrior’ Porriento of Mindanao.

The Noblefranca-Porriento showdown is the lone kickboxing duel that has been set a special attraction in the highly-anticipated “Ground and Pound 7: Resolution” Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) event this Saturday night at the Cebu Coliseum.

“I never stopped training and I think I am very ready for this fight. I believe that I can keep my belt because of the hard work I put inside the gym. I want to knock him out early,” said the 22-year-old Noblefranca who is training under the watchful eye of   Yaw-Yan ArDigma Cebu CEO and Founder Master Benigno 'Ekin' Caniga Jr.

Noblefranca was successful in his most recent title defense after coming up with an impressive first round knockout of Arnel ‘Ronin X’  Ylanan of  Team Project X in the main event of the ‘Bakbakan sa San Remigio’ kickboxing fightcard last May 15 at the Artemio Masbate Sports Complex in San Remigio north of Cebu.

This time,  Porriento   will be the one who will try  his luck against the Cebuano kickboxing juggernaut. Porriento pose a great challenge against Noblefranca as he was once a former member of the Philippine Muay Thai team.

But for Noblefranca, this gives him an added motivation as he wants to prove that Yaw-Yan is a far more superior kind of martial arts striking style than Muay Thai.

“I have faith in Yaw-Yan and I am raring to show that my style is more effective than his (Porriento),” added Noblefranca.

The slambang show is headlined by Cebu-based British fighter Cris "Lindol" Brooks of Yaw-Yan ArDigma Cebu, who will lock up horns with Davaoeño Lloyd Abucayan of Mindanao's Beefit Pythons Pit for the vacant GPC heavyweight crown.

In the supporting main event, Mindanao's Lorde Rey "Punisher" will make the first defense of his GPC lightweight crown against Kru Robert "Maldito" Serdone from Redneos Iron Gladiator MMA of Talisay City.

James "Spider" Serenio completes the explosive MMA championship triple-header as the undefeated Cebuano warrior will vie for the vacant GPC flyweight title against former URCC Visayan flyweight champion and PXC veteran Victor "Gladiator" Torre.
