EBV - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Defending champion Stream Ingenyouity and the Wipro Tigers blasted separate foes in the continuing action of the 9th CSCC E-League for Basketball last Saturday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Sylvester Millevo again flashed the form that made him the league MVP and Rookie of the Year at the same time two years ago, dishing out 18 points on top of five rebounds and two assists to power Stream to a 64-41 thrashing of the Kyocera Frontiers.

Ivan Cres de la Torre, Roderick Mangubat, and Joselito Aranda also made significant contributions, combining for 24 points, seven rebounds, six steals, and five assists as Stream fortified its hold of the bracket B lead in Nothern Conference with a 6-1 win-loss record.

Stream actually trailed by a matchstick at halftime,  22-23, but launched a blistering 22-7 rally in the third period and then ended the the match with a 20-11 blitz to seal the 23-point romp.

Randel Tutor was the lone double-digit scorer with 14 points, three rebounds and two steals for Kyocera, which crashed to its seventh loss against only one win.

Wipro, on the other hand, never looked back after taking an early 22-12 lead on the way to demolish the listless Talleco Bandits, 84-46.

After slowing down in the middle quarters, Wipro went back to business in the fourth where they mercilessly battered Talleco, 29-6, to come up with a 38-point blowout.

Violeto Tan, Jr. had 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists, Reinario Salibay, Jr. added 13 points, three steals and two rebounds, while Neptune Carungay chipped in a dozen markers as Wipro bettered its win-loss card to 5-2.

Mark Matidios punched in 18 points, 11 rebounds, five blocks and two assists, Junmar Estrada nailed 12 markers, and Andrew Joseph Isobal scored 10 on top of nine rebounds but their efforts were to no avail as Talleco remained winless after eight games.

In the other match, ePerformax (4-3) won by default over the Executive Boutique Lycans (0-7). (FREEMAN)
