CEBU, Philippines - Cebuano daredevils Neil Perino of Suzuki-BMR and Mipon Orbiso of Racing Lion advanced to the national finals of the Suzuki Raider Breed Wars 2013-Battle of the Kings after dominating their respective classes in the regional elimination of the adrenaline-pumping event held over the weekend at the South Road Properties.
Despite being a greenhorn, Perino lived up to the trust and confidence given to him by BMR top honcho Bobby Mencias and his teammates as he claimed the champion's trophy in the 130cc class.
It was the first time in eight years that BMR participated in drag racing and Perino did not let his team down.
Perino edged out Joven Millana of Suzuki V-Man of Mindanao for the top spot as Petronas-Mackyworx's Fitzgerald Sangual finished third.
Orbiso, on the other hand, ruled the raider 150 category after beating another V-man rider in Anver Antonio, while Oliver Aplaon of EDG Tire Recapping settled for third.
V-man though did not go home empty-handed as it reigned supreme in the 115 underbone category through the efforts of Joven Millana.
Alvin Laspuna of Matoy Racing came out second as Cris Anthony of SBM Riders of Bohol wound up third in this Phoenix Cyclo Max Motorcycle Oils-powered race sanctioned by National Motorcycle Sports and Safety Association(NAMSSA). — (FREEMAN)
