CEBU, Philippines - Yaw-Yan ArDigma Martial Arts Federation, Inc. Summer Clinic had a successful culminating rite the other night at the Yaw-Yan Headquarters situated at the fourth floor of Coast Pacific Downtown Center just across the University of Cebu (UC)-Main Campus along Sanciangko Street, this city.

Close to 40 kids and teenage practitioners show off their skills in arnis, Aryan style/sipang pamalo, bo-staff, tonfa/baton, yawara stick, Yaw-Yan combat (self-defense), Yaw-Yan ArDigma System, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), ‘Bigayan’ or give and take by multiple opponents, and full-contact sparring.

Turkish Yaw-Yan ArDigma practitioner and a master instructor of arnis Yilmaz Karadeniz who was the guest speaker of the event congratulated the participants of the month-long training camp.

"I congratulate all of you kids for participating and learning in the summer clinic, martial arts is like education and hopefully you kids will never stop learning and improving your skills," said Karadeniz.

For his part, Yaw-Yan ArDigma CEO/Founder and Vis-Min director Master Benigno “Ekin” R. Caniga, Jr. said that they are still accepting interested students who want to learn the art of Yaw-Yan.

Yaw-Yan is a unique Filipino martial arts derived from the two syllables of “Sayaw ng Kamatayan” or ‘Dance of Death’. It was introduced to the public for the first time by its originator GM Napoleon “Nap” Fernandez in a simple ceremony in Manila in 1972.
