Enervon partner’s cup Prime Asia goes for jugular today

Gabby G. Malagar - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Unless San Marino Tuna/CIT-U Wildcats can spring a major surprise, then there would be no stopping for Prime Asia Lending-UV Lancers from winning their third crown in the CESAFI Partner's Cup backed by Enervon as they clash in Game 2 of their best-of-three championship series today at the Cebu Coliseum.

Gametime is set at 4 pm.

Manpower wise, there's no reason why Prime Asia would fail to notch their third crown via a 15-0 sweep.

There's no doubt San Marino is capable of putting up a good fight despite their all-local roster, but for how long they could sustain their momentum that cannot be told. The fact that they lost by only eight points by way of the massive offensive attacks by Prime Asia backed by two Cameroonian imports in Steve Cedrick Akmo and Mike Harry Nzenssue, San Marino's impending loss would still be a decent accomplishment.

San Marino may have lacked the height, but not the grit especially if their big four play the same way last Thursday where they conspired most of the team's points in Joshua de la Cerna, Floyd Taboada, Allan Dimco and Vincent Menguito.

Prime Asia has all the reasons why they are the so-called the title favorites not just because of their branded offense-oriented pattern, they also have a superior lineup anchored on Wowie Escocio, Chris Perolino, Vincent Mendoza, Rhaffy Octobre and John Michael Abad.

Should they win tonight, it will be a back-to-back title for coach Felix "Donbel" Belano, Jr.

Minus the foreign players, the same UV squad is also the Philippines' representatives to the 27th Universiade in Kazan, Russia. (FREEMAN)
