MJDL, Portmen rout foes in Customs hoopla

CEBU, Philippines - The MJDL Brokers and Cebu Customs Portmen demolished separate foes for their second straight wins in the Cebu Customs Invitational basketball tournament at the Benedicto College gym along A.S. Fortuna Street in Mandaue City.

MJDL overwhelmed the Alin Brokers, 119-68, while the taller and bigger Portmen led by the twin towers of Jan Mose and Ferdie Laraga mesmerized CCBI, 86-59.

Jaymar Elloren netted 20 points, while Daniel Enriquez added 16 markers for MJDL of team owners Mike Logarta and Rex Darious Bensi. So explosive on the offensive end that they reached the century mark with still seven minutes left to play.

On the other hand, former UC Webmasters skipper Kenneth Kern Sesante topscored for the Portmen with 20 points, while guards Boodie Monteño and Jay Oyao scattered 16 and 11 markers, respectively. The outcome of the match wa already a forgone conclusion when the Portmen posted a 33-point advantage, 68-35, late in the third period.
