Magis Eagles Football Cup set

CEBU, Philippines - Up and coming Cebuano booters brace themselves for another exciting action with the staging of the Magis Eagles Football Cup on February 23-24 at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) field in Brgy. Canduman, Mandaue City.

Organized by the Ateneo de Cebu Parents United, the two-day joust features nine age-groups following the 9-a-side format in boys 1999, 1997, 2001 and 2002 and girls 1997 and 1999, 7-a-side in players 2003 and 2004 and 6-a-side in players 2005.

A total of 100 teams spread in different categories are expected to take part in the event that is sanctioned by the Cebu Football Association (CFA). Engr. Neil Ferraren will serve as tournament director.

The participants will be divided into brackets with each team playing against every other team.

For divisions with only one bracket, they will play a single round robin, with the top two qualifiers slugging it out for the championship. For divisions with more than one bracket, they will figure in a single round robin elimination followed by the crossover semis and the finals.

Trophies and medals will be given away to all category champions.

Those who are interested to join the competition have only until February 20 to register. Entry fee is pegged at P800 for the 6 and 7-a-side and P1,200 for the 9-a-side.
