Team Kopiko all set for supercross series

Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Aside from bankrolling a nationwide supercross series, Kopiko is also building up a powerhouse team with Jon-Jon Adlawan leading the cast for this weekend’s kick-off leg at the South Road Properties.

Adlawan, being the skipper and endorser of Kopiko himself since last year, hand-picked the members of the team.

They are Ado Decipolo, Jovanni Abellar, Jubenile Abellar and Risty de la Calzada. Eddy Montejo will be acting as coach and team manager.

Decipolo and Calzada will race under the beginners and novice class, while Jovanni Abellar will strut his wares in the novice and intermediate category.

Adlawan together with Jubenile Abellar will compete in the pro lites and open division.

This Saturday though, Adlawan will also be seeing action in the international division along with the likes of Glenn Aguilar, Kimboy Pineda, Ted Conde, Ambo Yapparcon and Irwin Ramas-Uypitching. They will go up against some European riders.

Meanwhile, the management of Kopiko hopes to entice more companies to build their own team.

Should there be four to five teams that will take part in the 12-leg series, the organizing Man and Machine Racing Promotions will be awarding the Team of the Year.

“Let’s see after three races. Naa may mga interested, but for sure what they will do in the first to three races is more on scouting. Hopefully by that time, we will get positive response from other companies,” said Man and Machine main man Jonas Adlawan. (FREEMAN)
