CEBU, Philippines - Aspiring hoopsters in the northern part of Cebu have an avenue to further sharpen their skills this holiday season with the staging of the Sunsport Basketball Training Camp on December 26-30 at the Don Celestino Martinez, Sr. Sports and Cultural Center in Bogo City.

Veteran coach Jojo Romarate, the head trainer of the longest and best-run cage camp in the Vis-Min region, said they will be teaching the campers on the fundamentals of the sport such as proper shooting, dribbling, passing, footwork and other related drills.

"We will shift our mode of instruction to a higher level. We will also be imparting to the campers some offensive and defensive strategies, on-court communication and other technical aspect of the game," said Romarate, presently the chief bench tactician of the Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology (SCSIT) Skyblazers.

"Above all these drills, we want to instill in them the value of hardwork, discipline and teamwork as well as the spirit of sportsmanship, which is the very essence of a well-rounded athlete," he added.

The training session is set from 9 am to 11 am.

Registration fee is pegged at P1,000 inclusive of a training jersey and the latest edition of Sunsport basketball.
