Gilbuena shines in Prycegas Marathon
CEBU, Philippines - Cebuana long distance runner Mischelle Gilbuena showed she's back in the groove after taking first runner-up honors in the women's division of the Prycegas International Marathon the other day in Cagayan de Oro City.
Gilbuena finished the mostly uphill 42-kilometer battle in three hours, six minutes and 19 seconds, two minutes and 33 seconds behind women's champion Monicah Jepkorir Mengich.
Christy Sevilleno, another participant from Cebu, placed sixth overall with a 3:31:10 clocking.
In the men’s side, Cebu-based Kenyans Abraham Missos and Douglas Mwiti wound third and fourth with the time of 2:33:01 and 2:33:43, respectively, while Alvirg Busa landed at eighth place in 2:41:36.
Mary Joy Tabal, on the other hand, wound up second in the women’s 21K division with the time of 1:23:34, while Jobert Carolino ended up second in the 5K run in 15:18:17 and Joel Delposo was eighth in 15:44:12. (FREEMAN)
