MS Motosuit sets farewell race winds up motocross series on Dec. 2, shifts to underbone and scooter racing in 2013

CEBU, Philippines - The final leg of the 2012 MS Motosuit Motocross Series dubbed as the 2nd Brgy. Capt. Isabelito Darnayla Motocross Cup will take place on December 2 in Sugtongan, Brgy. Basak, Lapu-Lapu City.

Held in cooperation with the Barangay Council of Basak and Casino Filipino, the upcoming battle is the seventh and final leg not only for this year’s series, but for the entire series itself.

This as MS Motosuit big boss Lou Ornopia has formally bade goodbye to motocross to switch gear to underbone and scooter racing next year.

Considering that it's a farewell race of sort for the award-winning sportman considered as the  Godfather of Cebu motocross, a good number of riders are expected to show up not only from Cebu but from other areas in the country.

Ornopia put up the MS Motosuit Series when motocross in Cebu, and perhaps in the entire country, seems “dead” a decade ago.

The said series revived the people’s interest in the sport where veteran riders staged a daring comeback, while new faces have had turned out year after year.

In recent years, more organizers have also surfaced that made Ornopia think that motocross here is back in full swing.

Ornopia has promised though to continue supporting motocross by lending his logistics to the organizers who need it.

Ornopia and MS Motosuit embark on a new challenge next year as they will tie up with FDR Tires in spearheading an underbone series here, something the Cebuanos should look forward to. (FREEMAN)
