Alcoy hosts second leg of ultra race series

CEBU, Philippines -  Close to 150 runners led by first leg winner Jieter Bada are all set for the second leg of the Cebu Ultra Runners Club’s 100-kilometer battle on November 17 in the southern Cebu town of Alcoy.

 Just like the inaugural event, the race will start at 6 pm making it extra challenging for the participants especially those who have not been to the area before.

 Of the 119 early registrants, 22 daring fitness buffs have signed up in the women's division.

 The lung-busting race of endurance, stamina and mental toughness is part of the three-leg ultramarathon series. The first phase was held last June 30 in Pinamungajan.

The third and final stage is scheduled next year in a still undisclosed venue. (FREEMAN)
