Smooth traffic, tight security
CEBU, Philippines - The organizers and city officials of Lapu-Lapu have assured fans of a smooth traffic and tight security during the highly-anticipated PBA Cebu Road Tour pitting the Alaska Aces against the San Mig Coffee Mixers on November 10 at the Hoops Dome in Brgy. Gun-ob.
In a press conference yesterday at AA's Barbecue Haus along A.S. Fortuna Street in Brgy. Banilad, Mandaue City, Asila Malasarte of Enya Ideals said 120 traffic personnel and police will be deployed around the vicinity of the multi-million sports facility to secure the expected 7,000 plus Cebuano patrons who will be watching the bearing PBA match.
“We're expecting to draw a huge crowd so we assure everyone that compared to the past PBA games held at the Hoops Dome, the traffic will be properly controlled and managed this time. We also have enough personnel and policemen that will handle the security inside and outside the venue," said Malasarte.
The Alaska Aces, who are on a four-game winning streak, features one of the most exciting PBA rookies in Calvin "The Beast" Abueva and Cebuano hotshot Dondon Hontiveros.
They will play alongside Cyrus Baguio, Sonny Thoss, Gabby Espinas, JV Casio, Marnel Baracael, Tony de la Cruz, Samigue Eman, Nic Belasco, Paolo Bugia, and Brandon Cablay.
On the other hand, San Mig Coffee will be bannered by two-time PBA MVP James Yap and Peter June Simon.
The reigning PBA Commissioner’s Cup champion will also bank on the likes of Marc Pingris, Mark Barroca, Peter June Simon, Jonas Villanueva, Wesley Gonzales, Raffy Reavis, Jerwin Gaco, Joe Devance and Cebuano rookie Aldrech Ramos.
Tickets for the ringside and lower box have already been sold out. The remaining tickets are priced at P350 for the upper box and P150 for the general admission.
Tickets are available at Chris Sports in Ayala Center Cebu, SM City-Cebu and SM Consolacion, Hoops Dome, Lapu-Lapu City Hall and Fairchild Coop.
