CEBU, Philippines - Close to P10,000 is at stake in the Cebu All-Students Chess Tournament this weekend at the University of San Carlos (USC)-North Campus gym.
The two-tilt, which is open to all students currently enrolled this semestral year, features the kiddies (14-under) and juniors (20-under) categories.
It follows a 7-round Swiss system format.
The champion in the juniors division will take home P1, 500, while the second and third will get P1,000 and P700. respectively. The fourth and fifth will receive P500 and P300.
The top finishers in the kiddies class will pocket P1,000, while the second to fifth will get P700, P500, P300 and P200.
The top ladies performer will win an extra P700 in the juniors division and P500 in the kiddies bracket.
Registration fee is pegged P75 for the kiddies and P100 for the juniors.
