CEBU, Philippines - Over P100,000 in cash prize will be given away to the top performing teams of the Mayor Teresa P. Alegado Cup 2012 Fiesta Basketball League set to kick off this Sunday at the Consolacion Sports Complex.
A total of 20 teams will see action in the month-long tilt that features the inter-barangay and SK categories.
The inter-barangay champion will pocket P30,000, while the second and third placers will take home P20,000 and P10,000. The top three finishers in the SK category will receive P20,000, P15,000 and P10,000.
League commissioner Paul Alelu Q. Flores said all participating squads will get a consolation prize of P5,000 each.
The event is spearheaded by the municipal government of Consolacion led by Mayor Alegado and Vice Mayor Rey Damole in cooperation with Cebu 6th District Provincial Board member Arleigh Sitoy, Consolacion ABC President Marilou Casul and SKF chairman Vito Rolito Villo.
The conduct of the tournament will be under the supervision of sports committee chairman Neil Ferraren assisted by Flores and sports coordinators Roy Linaboc, Melquiades Caylan, and Edwin Miñoza. (FREEMAN)
