CEBU, Philippines - The city government of Mandaue under the leadership of Mayor Jonas Cortes will give cash incentives to its athletes who won medals during the 12th World Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation (WEKAF) Championships two months ago at the Cebu International Convention Center.
Cortes personally congratulated the world champion arnisadors from Mandaue during the fourth anniversary celebration of the Cubacub Martial Arts Club, Inc. (CMACI) last Sunday.

Bacalso, who was the head coach of the Philippine Team that bagged the overall championship of the biennial event, said the coaches will also get their due.
"The winning coaches from Mandaue city will also get P5, 000 each for guiding the athletes to a podium finish," Bacalso said.
All in all, Bacalso said Mandaue will shell out P100,000 for the gold, P21,000 for the silver, and P4,500 for the bronze medal finishers. (FREEMAN)
