The categories to be contested are the unisex 10-under, boys and girls 12, 14, 16 and 18-under.
“It’s time for our young players from Cebu to display their talent. We’re hoping to discover more athletes who can be trained for future international tournaments,” said PHILTA regional vice president and Palawan Pawnshop chief operating officer Bobby Castro.
Those who are interested to join this Babolat-presented event have only until at 12 noon today to register. For more details, one may contact tournament in-charge Bobby Mangunay at 0195-4046464 or e-mail him at bobbymangunay@yahoo.com.
“We take pride in hosting not just one but two legs of the Philta-Palawan Pawnshop Regional Age-Group. It has been our desire to help in the development and promotion of the sport and at the same time provide our youths a venue where they could hone their talent and skills,” said Consolacion Mayor Teresa P. Alegado.
The top performers will be tapped to represent the country in some International Tennis Federation tournaments in Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and South Korea. Their expenses will be shouldered by Palawan Pawnshop. (FREEMAN)
