CEBU, Philippines - Rising ALA Boxing Gym star Albert 'Prince' Pagara (12-0, 9KOs) will stake his unbeaten record when he battles former two-time regional champion Marvin “Batong Leyte” Tampus (27-15, 18KOs) in the main event of the “Bakbakan sa Balamban” fight card on September 28 at the Mayor Exasperanza Binghay Memorial Complex in the southwestern Cebu town of Balamban.
Spicing up the slambang show is the exhibition bout between two welterweight contender from the ALA Gym in Jason 'El Niño' Pagara and Jimrex 'The Executioner' Jaca.
In his previous bout, Pagara hacked out an impressive unanimous decision victory over Alvin Makiling on the undercard of the 'Pinoy Pride XV' last August 18 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
For sure, Pagara will have his hands full against Tampus, a grizzled veteran who once held the Pan-Asia Boxing Association (PABA) light flyweight crown.
In his last fight though last March 3 in Tagbilaran City, Tampus suffered a humiliating first round knockout loss to ALA mainstay Michael “Sunday Punch” Domingo.
In the other feature of the Balamban slugfest, Mharjhun Macahilig (15-2, 9KOs) will slug it out with Gerpaul TI Yamagata Valero (11-13, 7KOs), while Mark Bernaldez (6-0, 4KOs) hopes to extend his undefeated run when he takes on Butuan City's Ranie Pamatian (6-12, 1KO).
The rest of the card presented by ALA Promotions in partnership with West Cebu Industrial Park Association pits Roma Rate vs. Sherwin Caday, Crispin Parba vs. Jeffrey Segara, and Jojo 'Flash' Intor vs. Johnrey Lontiong. (FREEMAN)
