CBM opens bid in Dumaguete swimfest

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Blue Marlins of coach Rolando Alvarez are all raring to see action in the Visayas leg of the Speedo G-League Swim Series starting today in Dumaguete City.

CBM will be manned by Michael Ichiro Kong, Karen Mae Indaya, Langeline Hermoso,Trina and Matthew Angelo Caneda, Danielle Mae Ballesteros, Annita Monterola, Shayne Pareja, Beth May Arellano, Romylin Nina Ignacio, Israel Clarence Gabunada and Jay Clifford Fernandez from the University of Cebu (UC).

They will be joined by Tara Kyla, Tristan Kirk Ebon, Dorraine Bagacay, Razel Cabajar, Danielle Bagacay and Aaron Grant Embuscado from the University of San Carlos (USC).

The rest of the 22-man CBM squad includes Justine Reign Garrido of the Centre of International Education (CIE), Rafael John Dacaldacal of Marternelle Academy, Jehaosh Reign Garrido of Bright Academy and Jobert Indaya of Labangon Elementary School (LES).

Alvarez is hopeful that they could improve their third place finish last year.

CBM actually hauled more golds than Silliman University last year, but missed the overall crown as they had lower output in terms of points due to lack of manpower.  – THE FREEMAN
