2ND PHIL-ASIA Bodybuilding Championships, Screening for Cebu athletes set Friday
CEBU, Philippines - The Cebuano athletes who are interested to join the 2nd Phil-Asia International Bodybuilding Championships 2012 are required to attend the screening scheduled at 9 am on Friday at the Workout Fitness Center (WFC)-Ramos branch just beside the Cebu Holiday Plaza Hotel.
Event organizer Dennis Delgado said the screening is mandatory and those who cannot attend will not be accepted during the final registration on September 21.
The three-day tilt slated on September 21-23 at the Mariner's Court is being held in celebration of WFC's 25th year anniversary. It is co-presented by the Unified Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation of the Philippines (UBFFP).
Delgado said they are expecting more participants in the country's biggest and most prestigious bodybuilding competition since it has been sanctioned as a pre-qualifier for the top two world championship events - the Mr. Universe and Amateur Olympia.
The overall champion in the men and women's division will automatically qualify for the NAC Universe on November 27-31 in Germany, while the all-men's class champion will earn outright berth to the IFBB Amateur Olympia this November in Kuwait.
Cash prizes are at stake for the top finishers.
A total of 129 musclemen from seven countries led by host Phl took part in last year's inaugural edition of the Phil-Asia joust. The rest of the entries came from Indonesia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia.
