CEBU, Philippines - Over P100,000 in cash prize is at stake for the top performers of the 14th Bowlingplex Tenpin Association (BTA) Classic National Open Tournament slated on September 6-9 at the Gaisano Bowlingplex in Brgy. Banilad, this city.
Aside from trophies, the overall champion will take home a P50,000 paycheck, while the second and third placers will pocket P20,000 and P10,000, respectively. The fourth and fifth will get P5,000 and P3,000. Cash prizes will also be given to the 4th up to 25th finishers.
An additional P50,000 bounty will be handed out to a player who can score a perfect game. The award is valid until the masters finals.
The players will be classified according to the latest Philippine Bowling Congres (PBC) listing of averages. Those without PBC average shall get an average certification from their respective associations signed by their president or secretary, otherwise they will be considered as Class O bowlers with an average of 196, but subject for review and approval of the tournament director.
There will be an additional handicap of five pins for senior bowlers or those aged 60 years old and above as of September 6, 2012)
All participants shall play a total of 12 games of six games per playdate. Each playing day shall be divided into two squads. There will be lane movement every two games.
The top 47 qualfiers along with defending champion Heber Alqueza will clash in the finals on September 9.
Entry fee for the elimination round is P3,000 per bowler (inclusive of lane fees). Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. All bowlers must choose to play either in Squad I, II or III upon registration.
The PBC rules will goven the four-day tilt.
