Teletech, Aegis and Sykes barge into CSCC E-League conference semis
CEBU, Philippines - The Teletech Titans, Aegis Vipers and Sykes Pioneers booted out their respective rivals to advance into the conference semifinals without any glitch in the Sun Cellular-presented 8th CSCC E-League men's basketball tournament last Saturday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.
Sherwin Emmanuelle Resilla fired 17 points on top of nine rebounds as Teletech eliminated the SupportSave Jaguars, 69-66, while Dean Junber Escalon netted 13 markers and dished out four assists as Aegis elbowed out the Calltek Trojans, 86-63.
Sykes, on the other hand, displayed great teamwork as it ousted the Teleperformance Lions, 67-48.
Lourenz Limpangog added 16 points, eight rebounds and three assists, while Sherwin Anghay chipped in 11 points, six assists and three rebounds for Teletech, which blew hot and cold before using a 25-14 rally in the windup to turn back the gritty SupportSave.
Unlike Teletech, Aegis and Sykes had little trouble in disposing off separate foes. Aegis kept Calltek at bay after mounting a 46-28 lead at halftime, while Sykes did not look back after jumping off to an 18-9 start against Teleperformance.
Four players cashed in twin figures for Sykes led by Jan O'Neil Sahilan and Gerald Bien Galarido with 12 points apiece. Reggy Sultan added 11 points followed by Ray Oliver Castañares with 10. (FREEMAN)
