CEBU, Philippines - The Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) booters drubbed Paref-Springdale, 2-0, in football eent of the 2012 St. Ignatius de Loyola Goodwill Games yesterday at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu in Brgy. Canduman, Mandaue City.
In the other 17-under match, Abellana National School-Pomeroy of coach Francis Ramirez upended host SHS-Ateneo, 1-0.
In the 12-under category, SHS-Ateneo split their opening games. The Ateneans defeated Springdale, 1-0, but bowed to last minute entry Canduman.
The tournament follows a single round robin format, with the top teams slugging it out for the championship today.
Aside from football, SHS-Ateneo also plays host to swimming and basketball.
The swimming competition will end today, while basketball will hae its opening ia the 17th edition of the Sacred Heart-Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA).
A total of 11 teams led by defending champion Dynamic Power will see action in the SHAABAA hoopla. The rest of the entries are Gaisano Capital, Fiesta Cebuana Caters, Twin Towers Farms Gold, Goldberry Suites and Hotel, Insular Square, RDAK, Twin Tower Farms Blue, A-Team, Cebu Landmasters and JAPFA.
Next week, SHS-Ateneo will stage the 2012 St. Ignatius Run at Insular Square Mall featuring the 3K, 6K and 16K categories.
