Aegis annihilates Executive Boutique in CSCC E-League

CEBU, Philippines - The Aegis Vipers spared no mercy in thrashing the hapless Executive Boutique Lycans, 101-28, in the Sun Cellular-presented 8th CSCC E-League men's basketball tournament at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Clifford Amarado carded in 23 points on top of three assists and the same number of steals, while John Louie Arriesgado added 17 points, six assists, two steals and two rebounds for Aegis, which clobbered Executive Boutique at will right after the opening buzzer.

Aegis opened the game with a 31-5 blast, then held off Executive Boutique to a matchstick while scoring 19 in the second period to post an imposing 50-6 bulge at halftime. The Vipers launched their final wave of attack, 51-22, to seal the 73-point blowout.

Steve Warren Navaja and Dean Junmber Escalon conspired for 27 points, seven rebounds, six assists and three steals as Aegies firmed up its hold of the second spot in the Northern Conference with a 7-1 win-loss record record, just a full game behind the undefeated Convergys Wolves (6-0).

No player cashed in double-digit for Executive Boutique, which slumped to its sixth defeat in as many starts.

In the other games, the 1&1 Marauders pulled off a 70-69 squeaker over the Kyocera Frontiers, while the Cebu Global Warriors gunned down the Accenture Sharks, 79-74.

Raymaond Basañez had 17 points and six rebounds, while Orland Bastida had a splendid double-double show of 15 points and 14 rebounds he spiced up with five assists and two steals as 1&1 improved its win-loss record to 4-5.

Ariel Ramonito Edera banged in 23 points, nine rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks, while Eliot Emerson Uy tossed in 16 points, seven rebounds, four blocks and three assists but their all-around performance went to waste as Kyocera suffered its third defeat in five games.

On the other hand, Rowen Tagalog churned out 31 points on top of 13 rebounds, five assists and three steals, while Jay Paradiang scattered 23 markers, six assists, five rebounds and four blocks for Cebu Global, which evened its slate to 3-3.

Jasper Loreto charted 19 points, five assists and two steals for Accenture, which absorbed its only second defeat in seven starts.
