CEBU, Philippines - Siblings Tonyo and Kali Carcel had another successful outing in the third leg of the 2012 Kartzone Superkart Series at Kartzone in Kasambagan, this city.
Tonyo kept his hold of the driver's seat in the race for the Karter of the Year award while sister Kali dominating her class
Despite committing some mistakes in the last leg, Tonyo still managed to remain on top of the overall standing in the KOY race with 125 points.
Carcel of AUTS Racing and PAREF Springdale School committed a mistake in the start of the last heat in the KT100 expert division, but still managed to come out second in the third leg that allowed him to hold on to the overall points lead.
Third leg expert class winner, Joseph Rojo now occupies the second spot in the KOY race with 118 points while Jette Calderon slipped to third spot with 112 points.
JT Gullas has the fourth spot with 64 points followed by Sean Velasco with 56 points and Vince Rojo is at sixth spot with 46 points.
The seventh to 10th places in the KOY award after three legs are now occupied by Kali Carcel with 44 points, Panpan Reroma with 40 points, Regan King with 19 points, and Jed Binoya with nine points.
Kali's victory in the third leg paved her way to improving her placing the KOY race.
It was the best performance for Kali since returning to action at Kartzone.
From a second place finish in the first heat in the KT novice, Kali was able to pull some surprises and dominated the next two heats despite racing on a wet surface beating the likes of Vince Rojo and Jed Binoya.
The other action in the third leg saw Rap-Rap Gutierrez winning the SQ Cadet, Jarond Messina in the mini ROK, Frederick Cortes dominating the Honda novice, Dondi Binoya topping the Honda expert's class, and Panpan Reroma outsmarting Regan King in for the top spot of the KT masters' division.
