CEBU, Philippines - Defending champion Stream Global Ingenyouity kepts its winning ways with an 83-41 rout of the 1&1 Marauders, while Aerl Genebraldo erupted with 28 points and 11 rebounds as the Calltek Trojans smothered the JP Morgan Bankers, 67-47, to final barge into the win column in the Sun Cellular-presented 8th CSCC E-League men's basketball tournament at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.
In the other game, Beau Josef Orbe had 10 points, seven rebounds and three blocks as SSI Pure Science rallied to a 47-40 victory over the Teleperformance Lions.
Sylvester Millevo, who made history for sweeping the MVP and Rookie of the Year honors last season, carded in 14 points on top of four steals and three rebounds as Stream stayed at solo third in the Northern Conference with a 5-1 win-loss record.
John Jess Cajuelan and Edward Castañeda connived for 20 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two assists for Stream, which pounded the hapless Marauders in the first two quarters to mount a commanding 17-point advantage at halftime, 36-19.
After outscoring 1&1 in the third canto, 20-10, Stream ended the one-sided match with a 27-12 bang for the 42-point blowout.
Raymaond Basañez had 12 points and seven rebounds for 1&1, which fell to 3-4.
Genebraldo, on the other hand, got huge support from Jan Pierre Gelez with 11 points, four rebounds, three blocks and three assists as Calltek snapped out of its five-game jinx.
Cedrich Junius Uy chipped in 10 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals for Calltek, which used a tide-turning rally in the second period to break the backs of JP Morgan.
Trailing by two early on, 11-13, Calltek outscored JP Morgan in the middle quarters, 41-29, and then iced the game with a 15-5 spurt to come up with a 20-point romp.
Mariel Barrera finished with 14 points, three assists and two steals. Rengie Cabanday added 11 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two assists, while Jonathan Zaragoza had 10 markers but their efforts proved futile as JP Morgan crashed to its sixth defeat against a solitary win.
