CEBU, Philippines - The best is yet to come for Team Suzuki Pilipinas as they continue their campaign in the prestigious Asian Road Racing Championship.
Compared to last year’s campaign, Team Suzuki Pilipinas showed a much better performance and great improvement in the recently concluded first leg of ARRC that was held in Sepang, Malaysia on May 11-13.
Dashi Watanabe, Suzuki Team Pilipinas Superbike 600 rider, surprised both the organizers and his competitors by showing an impressive feat in the circuit by riding with the style and confidence like a seasoned pro, though a neophyte in the tournament.
Enough for most of those who had seen him in the race track to say that he is someone to watch for in the coming legs.
In the 115 underbone category, Suzuki riders John Lery Enriquez and John Emerson Inguito managed to cross the checkered flag finishing on top of 5 other riders - another milestone for Team Suzuki Pilipinas on their second year of participating in the ARRC tournament.
“With the great improvement that we’ve seen in the performance of our team, we are going to continue our campaign in this tournament, while doing all the necessary adjustments especially in terms of racing technology to catch up with other participating countries who are far ahead of us. We are doing this not only for Suzuki but to the Filipinos in general particularly those who loved the sport,” said Mr. Eiji Kobayashi, Suzuki Philippines General Manager for Motorcycle.
Last June 13–17 in Sentul, Indonesia, Team Suzuki Pilipinas faced yet another colossal challenge - hoping that every Filipino would rally behind its back for the country’s pride.
