BMR Racing to tap grassroots talents, gears up for RUGP Series

CEBU, Philippines - Team Suzuki Phoenix-BMR Racing yearns to develop grassroots talents that they decided to tap less experienced, yet potential riders in underbone racing.

Robert “Bobby’ Mencias, who is taking care of the team, initially has four riders in his fold namely Mario Borbon, Paul Mencias, Jeffrey Tuico and Louie Chan.

Paul Mencias, a former top peewee motocross rider, will race under the novice class along with Tuico.

Chan will strut his wares in the beginners category, while Bobby Mencias and Borbon, the only two veterans in the team, will compete in the experts division.

After a two-year hiatus, BMR Racing returned to active duty following the entry of Suzuki as its chief corporate backer.

“When Suzuki supported BMR, I took Mario (Borbon) because he's talent will just go to waste if he don't get enough support," said Mencias. "We're looking forward to joining as many races as we can."

Barring any hitches, Team Suzuki Phoenix-BMR Racing will take part in the second leg of the Regional Underbone Grand Prix (RUGP) Series on July 22 at the Gaisano Countrymall carpark in Brgy. Banilad, this city. (FREEMAN)
