Missos, De los Santos rule 12th DYAB Kapamilya Run

CEBU, Philippines - Kenyan Abraham Missos and the Cebu-based Zamboangeña long distance runner Mary Grace de los Santos topped their respective divsions in the DYAB Kapamilya Run Year 12 that drew close to 3,500 entries yesterday at Parkmall grounds in Mandaue City.

Missos, who usually avoids running against fellow Kenyans, dared the challenge this time and succeeded in winning the men’s 21K title with the time of one hour, 11 minutes and 8.31 seconds.

Douglas Mwiti came out second with the time of 1:12:43.32, while Cebu's pride Adonis Singson ended up third with a 1:14:37.78 clocking.

In the distaff side, De los Santos crossed the finish line first in one hour, 22 minutes and 25.44 seconds. Mary Joy Tabal settled for second place in 1:23:32.10, while Madelyn Carter took home the third place honors in 1:41:07.80.

Another Kenyan in Francis Kakui topped the men’s 12K with the time of 40:03.08. Robert Daang timed 41:18.03, good for a second place finish followed by Riez Enriquez in 42:55.60.

Lovely Fe Andrin bagged the women's 12K crown in 50 minutes and 8.48 seconds. Christy Sevilleno-Tutor wound up second in 52:14.89, while Mary Jane Beboso occupied the third spot in 57:03.21.

Lovely Fe’s sister Cherry Andrin lorded it over in the women's 6K with the time of 26:46.34, while Kristel Diongson (26:59.13) and Jhean Andrin (27:45.57) filled up the next two spots.

Joebert Carolino reigned supreme in the men's 6K in 21 minutes and 14.62 seconds followed by John Daryl Manos (21:19.79) and Jorry Ycong (21:27.74).

The top three finishers in the 3K open were Clyde Salis (10:29.69), Joel Hermosilla (10:51) and Jodorico Diaz (11:10.74). - THE FREEMAN
