It's green and go for the Cambitas Mountainbike Challenge 2012 on June 2 and 3 at the Cambitas Bike Park in Brgy. Babag 2, this city.

“Choose your way to the finish” was printed in the promotional poster since participants can use either a mountainbike or folding bike.

The mountainbike event features the cross-country and downhill battle.

The categories to be contested in the cross-country on June 2 include the open, executive, beginners and fun racers.

The downhill competition will take place on June 3 along with the folding bike event. The downhill event has the open, intermediate, beginners and hardtail beginners classes.

“This serves as a tuneup race to introduce this bike park and to classify mountainbikers here,” said Gene Faelnar, who assured that the riders will be dealing with a very exciting and "beginners’ friendly” race course.

For those who will not be able to practice before race day, the organizers are giving the participants a few hours to survey the route since race starts at 10 am yet.

Registration fee is pegged at P250 inclusive of a jersey. Those who want to join the two events will just have to add P100. — (FREEMAN)
