Ginebra to dazzle Cebu fans in PBA game versus Meralco
CEBU, Philippines - The Brgy. Ginebra Kings are raring to treat their diehard Cebuano fans to a highly entertaining hardcourt action when they face the Meralco Bolts in the first out-of-town match of the season-ending PBA Governor's Cup this Saturday at the Hoops Dome in Brgy. Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City.Game time is set at 6:30 pm, with the Kings vowing to put on a show in the Queen City of the South where they have a multitude of loyal followers.
"It's always a pleasure playing in Cebu because the Cebuano fans are very knowledgeable about the game and also very passionate about it so it's always a privilege and an honor to play there," said Ginebra coach Siot Tanquingcen.
"Meralco is a team that has very good guards and players like Cardona, Mercado, Artadi and Ross. They also have a very good import so it would be interesting for both of our teams," added Tanquingcen.
Ginebra and Meralco sport an identical 1-1 win-loss records. The Kings and Bolts hurdled their opening assignments against Air 21, 103-85, and Talk 'N Txt Tropang Texters, 105-99, but lost in their last game against B-Meg Llamados, 96-88, and Petron Blaze Boosters, 101-88, respectively.
In their Cebu sojourn, Ginebra will parade an well-rounded reinforcement in Cedric Bozeman, who averaged 29.5 points per game in two starts with the Kings.
Bozeman is expected to draw support from Ginebra's local firepower that include Mark Caguioa, Kerby Raymundo, Rudy Hatfield, Nino Canaleta, Willy Wilson, Robert Labagala, Dylan Ababou, Mike Cortez, Enrico Villanueva, and Allein Maliksi.
Meralco, on the other hand, will be bannered by its explosive import in Champ Oguchi, who will play alongside Asi Taulava, Mark Cardona, Reynel Hugnatan, Sol Mercado, Paul Artadi, Jay-R Reyes, Mark Macapagal, and Chris Ross.
"I would like to invite all the Cebuanos to come and watch the game. It's going to be an exciting one," said Tanquingcen.
Tickets are priced at P150 for general admission, P500 for upper box, P800 for lower box and P1,000 for VIP/Courtside.
