CEBU, Philippines - At least 20 musclemen from different fitness clubs in Cebu will flex their well-sculpted physique, all hoping to make an impression as they vie for the coveted title in the 2012 Mr. Perfect Body bodybuilding competition today at the Activity Centre of Pacific Mall (formerly Super Metro) in Brgy. Basak, Mandaue City.
Showtime promptly starts at 3 pm.
Over P10,000 in cash prize is at stake for the winners of the annual tilt, which carries the theme "Health is more than wealth".
Aside from trophies and medals, the champion will take home P5,000, while the second and third placers will pocket P3,000 and P2,000, respectively. The fourth to sixth will receive P500, P400 and P300 plus medals.
Perfect Body Gym owner Nancy L. Yukayguan has assembled a distinguished panel of judges for the event namely Ben Andales (Mr. Philippines 1978), Wesley Lim ( Mr. Philippines 1987), Henley Uy (licensed international bodybuilding judge), Noli Tolentino (Mr. Perfect Body 1987, Mr. Philippines 1990 and Mr. Bikini Open 1991) and Ely Deldig.
Before the contest proper, there will be a zumbathon that is open to the public for free. The dance marathon, which will begin at 1pm, will be led by three licensed Zumba instructors Marco Brigoli, Dario Tagalog, and Fernando Ungria.
The other sidelight of the affair is the awarding of Perfect Body's biggest losers in Ric Anthony Bugtay, who lost 74.7 pounds in eight months, and Christian Yap, who lost 80.5 pounds in one year. (FREEMAN)
