Run for Pinoy Glory slated on July 7
CEBU, Philippines - In another run for a worthy cause, Summit Natural Drinking Water will spearhead the first ever ‘Run for Pinoy Glory’ on July 7 starting and ending at the Fort San Pedro grounds.
The organizers led by Summit brand manager Angelie ‘Dan’ Ong are expecting close to 3, 000 runners to join the event that serves as a major fund-raising project for the country's paralympian athletes who will be joining the 2012 Paralympic Games this August in London.
“We have been helping Filipino athletes for the past years and this time, with the partnership of the Philippine Olympic Committee, we will help our paralympian athletes who will try to win gold medal in the prestigious paralympic games in London,” said Ong.
“Let's show the bayanihan spirit and help our athletes to attain the glory in the Olympics. We encourage everyone to help by joining the run and spreading the word,” she added.
The race features the 3K, 5K, 12K, 16K and 21K categories. There will be a special 3K class for wheelchair-bound persons with disabilities (PWDs).
Exciting prizes await the winners in each category. All the 21K finishers will receive a specially-designed medal and t-shirt.
Registration fee is pegged at P300 for the 3K and 5K, P450 for the 12K, P550 for the 16K and 650 for the 21K. A group of five runners can bring along with them one runner for free.
