CEBU, Philippines - After collecting two titles in Bohol last week, Cebu’s top female netter Sally Mae Siso sustained her sizzling run, this time in the Ormoc City leg of the Cebuana Lhuillier Age-Group Tennis Circuit.
Siso reaffirmed her dominance over archrival Hannah Grace Espinosa, 6-2, 6-3 to clinch the girls 18-under crown.
Another Cebuana player in Zethley Alferez lorded it over in the girls 12-under after whipping Maria Delrose Duran, 6-2, 6-1.
Alferez advanced into the final at the expense of fellow Cebuana Kristin Renee “Kara” Salimbangon, 7-6, 6-3.
Salimbangon, however, got even with Alferez, albeit via a hard-earned 4-6, 7-5, 10-6 victory in the semifinal round of the girls 14-under class.
Salimbangon will take on Dominique Ong in the gold medal match on Tuesday at the CITCI courts.
Ong already has the girls 16-under tiara in her pocket after she edged out Edel Weiss, 2-6, 3-6, 10-4.— (FREEMAN)
