CEBU, Philippines - Muay Thai mainstay Gino ‘Projectile’ Po has vowed to dish out an impressive victory and prove that his discipline is more dominant as he takes on veteran kickboxer Junrey Soquite in the main event of the free-to-the-public Muay Thai Challenge 2012 tonight at J Centre Mall in Brgy. Bakilid, Mandaue City.
This is a one-of-a-kind showdown as fighters from two similar combat discipline will test each other's mettle.
But Po, who is also into Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), said he will give his all-out best to give pride to Muay Thai, an ancient martial arts from Thailand also known as the ‘Art of Eight Limbs’.
Po is coming off a resounding win over Ronny Calunsag in Fight Ground III last February at the Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex.
“Based on my experience inside the ring, you can't really determine an exact time when you can knock out your opponent. But I can say that I am a heavy hitter and I hit hard so there' a big possibility that I'm going to send him (Soquite) down on the canvas,” said Po.
In the supporting bouts, Po's protege Neil Bacatan will take on Kerk Florida of ATC Kickboxing, while two Bullet warriors in Leo Rodrigo and Moses Nadalo will mix it up with John Edu Torbiso of Durex Dragon and Edcel Julom of ATC Kickboxing, respectively.
The rest of the card features Donald Tubod vs. Axel Torbiso; Marvin Rabonos vs. Kimmuel Cabahug; Dennis Berjay vs. Gary Cabahug; and Dino Codinera vs. Yanyan Villanueva.
The slambang show is organized by the Muay Thai Association of the Philippines-Cebu Chapter and RCTV in cooperation with J Centre Mall. (FREEMAN)
