Teletech, Kyocera rout foes in CSCC E-League
CEBU, Philippines - The Teletech Titans and Kyocera Frontiers shackled separate foes in the continuing action of the Sun Cellular-presented 8th CSCC E-League men's basketball tournament last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym in Ayala Business Park.
Sherwin Emmanuelle Resilla carded in 22 points, three rebounds, three assists, three blocks and two steals as Teletech mercilessly clobbered the Eli Global Underdogs, 92-55, while Eliot Emerson Uy unloaded 19 points on top of six rebounds and two assists to help Kyocera demolish the Executive Boutique Lycans, 72-50.
Sherwin Anghay banged in 16 points, three assists and two steals and Romeo Pardillo, Jr. contributed 14 markers for Teletech, which left Eli Global groping for form the the dark after getting off to a flying 29-16 start.
After posting a 48-27 advantage at the intermission, Teletech further smothered the hapless Eli Global in the final half, 44-28, to come up with a 37-point cakewalk.
John Raymund Bartulin finished with 16 points and nine rebounds for Eli Global followed by Ryan Zear Lauro with 14 points.
On the other hand, Ariel Ramonito Edera had 17 points and RJ Lee Daniel scored 11 as Kyocera kept Executive Boutique at bay after taking an early 18-10 lead.
After dominating the next two quarters, Kyocera closed the match with a 20-9 spurt to seal the 22-point romp.
R'nyl Joel Cagas netted 17 points spiced with a season-high seven steals for Executive Boutique, which also drew 15 points from Andrew Thomas John Hilvano.
In the other game, Frenche Bonn Petallo and Adrian Francis de Leon each scored a dozen points as the Teleperformance Lions rode on a furious third-quarter explosion to cruise past the Lexmark Stallions, 66-63.
Trailing by two at halftime, 35-37, Teleperformance held Lexmark to an all-time low two points in the third period while charting 17 points to seize full control of the match, 52-39, heading into the final 10 minutes of the contest.
Lexmark fired back with a 24-14 run in the last period, but Teleperformance held on its ground to squeeze out a three-point win.
Roy Joseph Lanzaderas paced Lexmark with 16 points followed by Mervin Balansag with 12 points and seven rebounds in a losing cause.
