CEBU, Philippines - Kristin Renee Salimbangon and Joshua Kinaadman finally earned tickets to the 2012 Milo Junior Tennis Cup National Finals after topping their respective classes during the Luzon leg at Clark Freeport Zone Tennis Club in Mabalacat, Pampanga.
After they fumbled in the Visayas leg two weeks ago at the Cebu International Tennis Centre, Inc. (CITCI) in Consolacion, Salimbangon and Kinaadman travelled to Luzon with hopes of fulfilling their goals to play in the Nationals.
Salimbangon’s trip was all worth it though as she reigned supreme in the girls 12 category. She also had a runner-up finish in the girls 14.
The same goes for Kristine Renee’s brother Cesar Kristofer, who topped the unisex 8-under, a special class in this Children’s Tennis Workshop-organized event, and had a runner-up finish in the unisex 10-under.
Kinaadman, for his part, lorded it over in the boys 14 division.
To maximize their Luzon sojourn, the three Cebuano netters are joining the Group 2 Angeles City National Age-Group Tournament, which kicked off yesterday and will run until Saturday. (FREEMAN)
