Quota Trail Challenge set April 22
CEBU, Philippines - A unique and unforgettable experience at the same time be able to help students with disabilities are what the running community here could expect with the staging of the Quota Trail Challenge at the Pristina North Commercial Area on April 22 in Brgy. Talamban, this city.
The event features a 5K and 16K run plus a kiddie category for those 12 years old and below.
Passing through Pristina via Bacayan, Casili and Tolo-tolo, those who will join the “run for a cause” will surely enjoy a breath-taking view of nature.
“Trail run is safer, more enjoyable and the participants get to see beautiful views,” said Amale Mendozona-Jopson, president of Mahogany Grove Homeowner’s Association which co-organizes the event along with Quota International of Cebu South.
Considering it’s a trail run, the organizers assure the safety of the participants. They will also make it a well-marked route so they won’t get lost.
The kids, on the other hand, will race in a flat course at Pristina North. Kids who opt to take part in the trail run can do so provided that they have a waiver and an adult companion during the run.
Aside from the excitement and healthy benefits of running, participants will also be able to help the deaf students of Lipata National High School SPED Center for their bakery and training center.
Quota International of Cebu South will finance the training of at least 25 deaf students in baking so they have means of livelihood.
Cash prizes and medals are at stake for the top performers. The top finisher will also take home a Saucony running shoes plus Nutrilife products for the top three.
Gift items will be given away top the top five in the 5K as well as the top three in the kiddie run.
Registration fee is pegged at P450 for the 16K, P350 for the 5K and P250 for the kiddie run.
Entry forms are available at The Brick of J Centre Mall in Mandaue, Runnr-Ayala and Mahogany Grove administration office. On-site registration will be accepted.
