C.E.B.U Elite cage camp kicks off tomorrow

CEBU, Philippines - The C.E.B.U. (Character Excellence Basketball Unlimited) Elite Summer Training Camp will formally open its doors to kids who want to sharpen further their hoop skills tomorrow at the Cebu Coliseum.

It's more of an orientation for participants on what they are expected to do in the camp as they will take a break on Wednesday for the Holy Week. Training will resume on April 9.

Open to players aged seven to 17 years old, the month-long camp will be supervised by former collegiate star Vernini Tangarorang from the University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors. The spunky playmaker also had stints with the M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala and the Cebu Landmasters-Mandaue in the commercial league.

Current USC Warriors head coach Mike Reyes will serve a consultant of the training camp, which will focus not only on skills development but also on character-building of the participants both inside and outside the playing court.

On hand to assist Tangarorang and Reyes are USC’s Bon Rosito and Albert Alocillo.

To be held from Monday to Friday, the training session is scheduled at 8 to 10 am for the beginners and at 10am to 12nn for the advanced level.

Registration fee is pegged at P1,500 inclusive of training jersey and a basketball.
