Triathlon event for kids today at Plantation Bay Resort

CEBU, Philippines - Close to 50 kids will showcase their wares in triathlon via the Century Tuna SuperTriKids this aftrenoon at Plantation Bay Resort and Spa in Lapu-Lapu City.

A lot of youngsters aged 16 years old and below dared to join the race as the route is a very safe one. The participants will only have to swim around the salt water lagoon and run around the posh resort.

The kids are excited to compete as this also serves as their practicum for the two-day clinic handled by Philippine Team coach Melvin Fausto.

Like the regular National Age-Group Triathlon Series, the race for kids features different age-brackets.

The regular NAGT action will take place tomorrow also at Plantation Bay and some parts of Cordova with 250 triathletes vying for supremacy.

Cebu’s newly-crowned triathlon queen Rochelle Tan leads the cast in the women's division.

Aside from the individual battle, there will also be a relay competition in the fourth leg of the event jointly organized by the Triathlon Association of the Philippines (TRAP) through its regional director Oscar “Boying” Rodriguez, Jr. and Plantation Bay Resort and Spa through its general manager Efren Belarmino.
