Sunrisers hoop opens Mar. 20
MANILA, Philippines - A total of eight teams will see action in the Sunrisers Basketball Tournament set to fire off on March 20 at the Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Sports Complex in Brgy. Punta Princesa, this city.
Among the contending squads are Autolab, Mawin's Kitchenette, Virginia Foods, Inc., Knickerbockers, University of Cebu (UC)-Banilad Teachers, Raddison Blu, Honey Grace and RGMA-7.
They will play in a single round robin format, with the top four teams advancing into the crossover semifinals. The survivors will then clash for the championship in winner-take-all affair, while the losers will battle for third place.
The champion will take home P5,000, while the second and third will pocket P3,000 and P2,000, respectively.--- - (THE FREEMAN)
