CEBU, Philippines - It's all systems for the University of San Carlos Boys High Alumni Basketball Association (USCBHABA) Summer League on April 1 at the USC-North Campus gymnasium.
A total of 20 teams will see action in the two-month tilt led by defending champions Batch '86 (Division 1) and the Yayoy's Grill-backed Batch 2002 (Division 2).
The games will be played from 8 am to 6 pm on Sundays.
The tournament will be supervised by commissioner Fredo Enriquez, with Rey Cañete as the technical committee chief.
Founded by businessman-sportsman Jonathan L. Guardo 12 years ago, the USCBHABA is presently headed by Rocky Alcoseba of Batch 2002.
USCBHABA is the third longest-run, alumni-based cage league in Cebu after SHABA (now the Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletics Association) and Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association (CECABA).
In a very rare moment, the brightest stars of the three leagues collide with each other during the Inter-Alumni Basketball Association (IABA) a decade ago. The league, however, existed only for one season. (FREEMAN)
