Pro boxing show in Punta Princesa

CEBU, Philippines - Some of the less experienced pro boxers will have a chance to showcase their wares and slowly build up their names as Brgy. Punta Princesa through the initiative of Brgy. Captain Jose F. Navarro will stage the "Binukbukay sa Barangay Punta Princesa" on March 18 at the Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Sports Complex.

In the main attraction of the slambang event held in partnership with RWS International Promotions, super flyweight contender Rommel Banquirigo of Wakee Gym will slug it out with fellow upstart Junie Salugaol of IPI's Omega Gym.

In the other six-round bout under the flyweight division, Gilbert Magos of Negros Oriental will go up against Junior Salvador for the Mandaue City-based Philippine-Australia Boxing Gym.

In the supporting bouts all scheduled for four rounds, Joel Soterol and Caoktoy Singwangcha, both of Ormoc City, will take on Phil-Aust Boxing Gym stalwarts Junjer Torbeso and Alex Belongquel, respectively, Francisco Singwangcha of Zamboanga will mix it up with Jhalel Payao of Omega Gym, while Kenny Demecillo of Iligan City will trade leathers with Jun Ryan Quimbo of Lito Cortez Stable. - THE FREEMAN
