Lava, 4 other Cebuano jins gear up for Asian tikefest

 CEBU, Philippines - The multi-titled taekwondo jin Glenn Lava and four other Cebuano members of the Philippine team are also set to fight for the flag and country in the 2012 Asian Taekwondo Championships from May 2 to 12 in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.

Lava, who has been winning consistently in local and international events, will be joined by Moses Bullicer, Rinna Mabanto, Mikeala Calamba and Maegan Bugarin in his quest for glory.

“We will train for one month in April before we will leace for Vietnam. But preparation wise, we had our non-stop training since last month here in Cebu. For us to win medals, we need to train harder,” Lava said.

Lava hopes to duplicate his golden performance during last year's World Taekwondo Hanmadang Championships in Seoul, South Korea.  (FREEMAN)
