Grand & Jai nips Jocabz in FYA cagefest

CEBU, Philippines - Team Grand & Jai of Baeng Medalle prevailed over Steven Jocabz, 81-75, in the battle of unbeaten teams in the 4th F. Llamas Youth Association (FYA) basketball tournament at the Brgy.Tisa gym.

Medalle churned out 16 points, but it was former UC Webmaster Daniel Enriquez who topscored for Grand & Jai with 25 points, including 12 in a decisive fourth quarter run that vaulted them to their third consecutive win in as many starts.

Dexter Caballero fired 19 points, while Porky Pacaña added 12 for Steven Jocabz, which saw its two-game winning streak come to a halt.

In the other game, Chissar Llegunas exploded with 30 points and Tata Laborte contributed 18 as Chariz & Caleigh bested Leo Lauron, 86-79, to finally barge into the win column after two failed attempts.

Onyot Masongsong had 23 points but went home on a pensive mood as Leo Lauron crashed to its third straight defeat.
