Second leg of CHECK chess tilt slated Feb. 26
CEBU, Philippines - Young Cebuano pawnpushers will once again test each other's mettle through the second leg of the Chess Enthusiasts in Cebu for Kids (CHECK) tournament scheduled at 10 am on February 26 at the Deep Blue Chess Club situated at the second level of SM City-Cebu.
The 7-round Swiss system competition features the 16-under category for boys and 20-under for girls.
Aside from trophies, event organizer Felix Balbona, Sr. said the champion will take home P1,000, while the second and third will pocket P750 and P500, respectively. The fourth to 10th finishers will get a consolation prize of P100 each.
Registration fee is pegged at P100 with free snacks.
